Dark green silk cushion cover

This symbol embroidered on the pillow is the Seljuk star, which is part of Seljuk architecture. This octagonal star consists of two interlocking squares and each corner represents a virtue. These virtues are mercy, compassion, patience, truthfulness, secrecy, loyalty, generosity and gratitude.

This golden pillow is made of local Kutnu fabric. Kutnu is a hand-woven fabric with a shiny surface and colorful vertical stripes, made with silk warps (longitudinal threads) and cotton wefts (transverse threads) and woven on hand looms. In Turkey, the art of kutnu weaving is practiced only in Gaziantep and is the earliest example of the art of textile printing.
