Kutnu is a fabric with a shiny surface and vertical coloured stripes, made from silk warps (longitudinal threads) and cotton wefts (transverse threads) and woven on hand looms. In Turkey, the art of kutnu weaving is practiced only in Gaziantep and is the earliest example of the art of textile printing.
Anatolia is famous for its carpets and rugs. Women weave them and reflect their emotions through traditional motifs on carpets and rugs. The symbol embroidered on this product is the figure of “Eli Belinde”, which means hands on hips and symbolizes motherhood and fertility.
